Programmer and IT Specialist

This position has the following functions.
- Programmer. Given program requirements and specifications, you will be required to create applications ranging from Visual Basic macros in Excel to stand alone programs.
- Webpage creation and maintenance. You will be required to set up and maintain the company’s web pages and set up collaborative work spaces.
- IT Support. You will be solely responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the company's IT communication infrastructures, ensuring maximum uptime and total customer satisfaction. Duties include installation of hardware, operating systems and applications and providing technical support to resolve internal and external customer problems related to operating systems, hardware, network and applications.
- Materials Production: You will be required to handle the computer systems and material preparation for the company’s public and in-house training sessions. You will also maintain an inventory of the company’s equipment and software.
- Internet Radio. There will be a part time requirement to assist in the setting up of an internet/web based radio station. Responsibilities include setting up a robust internet radio station using available radio streaming technology, setting up play lists, assisting with programming and production.
Requirements:
- BSc/Diploma or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 1 year of working experience in a related field.
- Strong foundations in software engineering and algorithm construction.
- Must be knowledgeable and experienced in web authoring, Windows 7, Linux, and mail server environment support and maintenance.
- Experience with programming languages such as Visual Basic, Visual Basic for Applications, Java, and C++.
- Knowledge in iOS5, Android OS, database management and independent radio broadcast will be an advantage.
- Able to work independently, result oriented, resourceful and highly adaptable to a fast evolving and challenging environment.
- Possess problem-solving capabilities and an enthusiasm towards learning new technologies.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
Graduate Process Engineer / Process Engineer
- Be a key member of the East 101 technology team to ensure that the best solutions are delivered to exceed client’s expectations.
- Grow as a process engineer, acquiring specialist skills in cutting edge areas of computer based chemical engineering technologies, including dynamic simulation and flow assurance.
- Work with and learn from world class process engineers.
In this role you require:
- An ability to communicate well in written and spoken English.
- A B.Sc. (minimum) in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university. M.Sc. holders preferred. Work experience as a process engineer in the oil and gas industry would be advantageous, though fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- A strong fundamental understanding of theoretical and applied Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Separations, Transport Phenomena and Numerical Methods.
- The ability to program in Visual Basic (minimum)
- Experience with commercial simulation tools, in particular HYSYS Dynamic and OLGA.
- A valid passport, or able to obtain a passport for international travel.
- A valid driver’s license and a car.
