Who Should Attend?
Chemical/Process Engineers or technologists who use process simulation software for designing, operating upstream processing facilities.
Prerequisites
Attendees should be well versed with steady state simulation experience or have taken our steady state course (GP-01)
What Will You Learn?
East101’s introduction to Dynamic Simulation and Process Controls is an introductory level program designed to provide the basics for an engineer to construct and interpret dynamic simulation models using a commercial dynamic flow sheet simulator.
This course deals with two main areas:
- The construction of a simulation model to represent a dynamic process.
- Implementation of control strategies on this process.
Topics
- Steady State Simulation Refresher Overview
- Fluid characterization
- Steady State Model Construction – estimation of equipment sizes and parameters
- Introduction to dynamic simulation
- Control valves and controllers
- Transitioning to dynamics
- Capacitance and dead time
- Cascade Control
